Privacy and how we care for your words

Consent text version 2026-10-v1 · Last updated 30 October 2026

What we collect

Your memory (text), optional photographs, optional audio recordings, your name (if you choose to give it), your relationship to Jaguar (optional), and — only if you choose to provide them — contact details. We also keep a privacy-protected fingerprint of your internet address purely to prevent spam; it cannot be reversed to identify you.

What happens to your memory

Nothing is published automatically. The family review team reads every submission. Your memory appears publicly only if you tick “Publish online” and the team approves it. Printed use requires the separate “Include in the printed booklet” permission. Photos and recordings appear only with “Publish my photos or audio”. Without “Show my name”, you appear as Anonymous.

Third parties

Photographs are stored with Cloudinary (a professional image hosting service). Voice notes are stored privately on our own server and are only ever heard by the review team unless you give permission. This site is protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile.

AI assistance

If — and only if — you tick “Allow AI assistance”, a small AI system provided by Z.ai may help the review team categorise your memory and suggest short highlights. The AI never writes words that appear as yours: any highlight it suggests must appear word-for-word in your text and is verified automatically. Private family-only memories are never sent to the AI. You can decline and everything still works the same.

How long we keep things

This memorial is intended to last, so memories are kept indefinitely as a permanent archive. Unpublished submissions and unused uploads are automatically cleared. Backups are kept for a rolling period.

Your choices

You can view, correct or remove your memory at any time — see request a change or removal. Removal deletes your text, photos and recordings from the website and from Cloudinary.
